Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale is home to a unique summer program designed to prepare middle school students for college. Breakthrough, which is part of a national collaborative (
www.breakthroughcollaborative.org), selects 45 students each year from Broward County public schools and puts them through a rigorous six-week summer enrichment program. Listen to Abean Osei, executive director, and Lindsay Williams, college bound coordinator, talk about how the program gives students a unique opportunity to realize their potential and to succeed. Student, Kelsea Rose, and her mom, Kathie, discuss how the program has changed their lives and provided Kelsea with an experience of a lifetime.
